OKarte possibilities abroad
When going abroad, take your OKarte with you! You can use OKarte almost everywhere in the world – in 180 countries in networks of 340 foreign operators in Europe, Africa, Asia, Oceania and the Americas.
Now also access the internet abroad:
- With Internet for Travelling in the Baltics and Nordic countries, pay up to LVL 1, in other European Economic Area (EEA) countries, Switzerland and Turkey, pay up to LVL 3 and in Russia up to LVL 3 per day*, when you use the internet.
- In other countries the internet is available for a fee per Mb.
To make and receive calls, and send messages, while abroad, your OKarte account balance shall be at least LVL 1.00.
Tariffs
Tariffs for the services used in the while abroad are applied depending on the region and the network of the foreign operator one has selected. Make sure you select LMT friendly network marked by a smiley simbol :-) it will allow you to save significantly! It will allow you to save considerably!

While abroad, you can...

- Make calls* using the Callback or dial the number directly.

- To use OKarte abroad, it shall be activated in the LMT network (first call shall be made). New OKarte package may not be activated abroad.
- In order to use your Okarte abroad, it has to be activated in LMT network (first call has to be made).
New OKarte package cannot be activated from abroad. - In order to receive or make calls, or send short messages, while abroad, OKarte account balance shall be at least LVL 1.00.
- Check in advance in the networks of which operators you can use your OKarte and print out information of the country you are interested in! All foreign operators do not support Callback, direct calls and controlling of an OKarte account.
- Make sure your handset operates in the mobile communications system used in the operator's network. Make sure that you use the automatic network selection mode. Find out how to select the network manually– it may help you in cases, when the handset has failed to select the LMT friendly network. If you want to select the network manually, most possibly you will have to do it repeatedly.

Short messages
You do not need to make any changes in your handset – send and receive short messages like in Latvia.
Making of calls
In the networks of definite operators, while abroad, calls can be made in two ways.
- Making a direct call from the operator’s network of the respective country - the same as at home, indicating the dialled number in international format.
- Using the Callback - by entering a specific key combination.

Direct call
Direct call is the most convenient way of making calls, what is accessible only in the networks of some operators and the number of these operators keeps increasing.
In order to call a handset number XXXXXXXX in Latvia, dial the following number in international format
+371XXXXXXXX. Save all Latvian numbers in the address book of your handset in international format!
For example, in order to call LMT Roaming Enquiries, call the number +37129319911.
In order to call a handset number XXXXXXXX of the other country, find out the number in international format and call: +country code and XXXXXXXX. For example, for the call to Estonia: +372XXXXXXXX. In such a way you may call also numbers of the country, you are visiting.
Foreign emergency services may be dialled as follows: 112 and the dial key.
Callback
Callback is the best way to call from OKarte, while abroad, especially in the countries, where no direct calls are possible. In the countries, where direct calls are possible, using Callback for calls to Latvia is more favourable by up to 69%!
In order to call a handset number XXXXXXXX in Latvia, enter a key combination (without spaces) *100*XXXXXXXX#, press the dial key, receive callback and answer it. Save this number in the address book of your handset and use it for calling next time.
Do the same for the number of another country - enter a key combination (without spaces), indicating the dialled number in international format. For example, for a call to Estonia: *100*00372XXXXXXX# and press the dial key.
Internet
OKarte offers the following ways of payment for internet abroad:
- Day fee for the internet in regions: payment per day for a limited amount of data.
- In other countries: payment for the MB downloaded.

Two ways of internet Day fee are available:
”Internet for Travelling” - FOR SAFE use of the internet while abroad. You limit your costs per day – up to LVL 1 (up to 30Mb in the Baltics and Nordic countries) or up to LVL 3 (up to 10Mb in other EEA countries, Switzerland and Turkey and up to 30Mb in Russia).
This is the right method for anyone who wants to fully control their costs and does not access large amounts of data. Internet for Travelling is activated automatically for you and will be in force in all day fee regions. In other regions the fee per Mb will be in force.
Once you have used the amount of data included in the Day fee you can purchase additional amount to use in the particular region by sending an SMS to number 1688:
- ICA1 – additional 30 MB (in the Baltic Sates and Nordic countries)
- ICA2 – additional 10Mb (in other EEA countries, Switzerland and Turkey)
- ICA3 – – additional 30Mb (in Russia).
”Internet for Travelling+” – FOR SAFE use of the internet abroad. You will be able to access the internet as much as you need and be sure about the costs. 30Mb in the Baltics and Nordic countries costs LVL 1. 10Mb in other EEA countries, Switzerland costs LVL 3 and 30Mb in Russia costs LVL 3.
This is the right way for you, if you use large amounts of data and do not want to bother yourself with purchasing extra amounts of data. Once you’ve spent the daily amount, an additional amount for an additional Day fee will be added automatically; if you spend this one as well, you will receive another additional amount, etc.
To activate Internet for travelling+, text IC+ to 1688.
Both Day fee types provide cost control using a text message, which you will receive when the amount of data you have spent will approach the maximum amount included in the Day fee.

How to check your OKarte account balance
If you want to find out an OKarte account balance FREE OF CHARGE, enter a key combination (without spaces) *120# and press the dial key.
After a while you will receive a short message from OKarte service system number 29202010 on your OKarte account status, credit validity period and usage period.
In case you cannot access this possibility, you can check your account balance also against payment.
- By sending a short message i to OKarte service system number 29202010.
- By calling using the Callback to service system number *102*29202010#.
- By calling directly to OKarte service system number +37129202010.
How to renew OKarte account
There are different ways of renewing an OKarte account. Choose the one that suits you best!
- Using the recharge voucher purchased before.
- In other ways without the recharge voucher – you or any other person upon your request.
Using the recharge voucher
Enter a key combination (without spaces) *130*NNNNNNNNN*KKKKKKKKKKKK# and press the dial key.
NNNNNNNNN – number of the recharge voucher.
KKKKKKKKKKKK – code of the recharge voucher.Afterwards you will receive a short message from OKarte service system number 29202010 that your account has been renewed. This service is free of charge.
In other ways without using the recharge voucher

Call forwarding
While abroad, you can use...
- Unconditional forwarding.
- conditional forwarding, if the handset is switched off. To activate the forwarding while in the network coverage of the foreign operator, the handset has to be switched off.
All forwardings can be deactivated from abroad.
